Motaii is a fictional take-away and delivery concept that fuses Austrian and Japanese culinary culture. Rooted in the Japanese philosophy Mottainai (avoiding waste), the brand focuses on sustainability, regional quality, and a modern food experience. All dishes are made with fresh, mostly organic ingredients and served in recyclable cardboard packaging.

The visual identity combines minimalist design with warm, handcrafted details. The logo features a rounded sans serif font, while the handwritten slogan adds a traditional, personal touch. The two “i”s resemble chopsticks, subtly referencing Japanese culture.

Four packaging sizes are tailored to different dish types and stack perfectly. Each box is printed with a red pattern merging Austrian and Japanese motifs and includes a humorous handwritten phrase that hints at its content.

A cheeky poster series visualizes the fusion idea: Austrians in traditional clothing with sushi or mochi heads. The slogan: „moch da kan Kopf – alles frisch“. Bold, humorous and unmistakably Motaii.
